We have multiple patients come into our office every week expecting one adjustment to fix them for good. At first thought why shouldn't they? We have all heard the ads on the radio, TV, Internet etc. and they are all offering quick fixes for whatever ails you. This has developed a strong culture in the United States that tells us that if the pain is gone the issue is gone and it leads us down a unhealthy road. The mentality that the absence of symptoms is the same as health is what leads people to take ibuprofen every day or whatever drug they use to eliminate the pain. When they do this they just keep taking more and more of the medication because they grow immune to it and the medication is doing nothing is most cases to treat the cause of the pain. It is simply hoping for the issue to resolve on its own and when it doesn't they become life long users of pain medication. The worst part about this process is as they age they wonder by their knee or hip has gone bad and they need it replaced. See our body does not send pain signals for no reason. Pain is in fact a very essential sensation for us maintaining our health. When our body sends us a pain signal it is telling us we have damage that needs attention and if we don't give our body the attention it needs it will keep damaging our body. This is where chiropractic care comes in. By helping to restore joint articulation we help to reduce the cause of the pain. With chiropractic care we do not instantly make the body feel better but we instantly make the body heal better. This is because instead of treating the symptom we treat the cause. Just like no workout  or diet makes lasting change in one day neither does most chiropractic treatments. When we realign the spine your musculoskeletal system will try and pull you back into the same gait pattern and posture that it is used to you being in. This is why it takes multiple adjustments and exercises to retrain the body on how it should be aligned. Though this is a process it offers lasting relief and better mobility into older age. This is why chiropractic is so worth the journey it takes to achieve a better healthier you.
