We are proud to announce that on June 28th we will be adding a massage therapist to our team here at Lake State Chiropractic. We are excited for the benefits that this will offer you our patients. Massage offers many benefits on its own but when paired with Chiropractic care it can help to improve recovery time. The benefits that make massage work so well with chiropractic is its reduction of swelling and muscle tension. With a acute injury we tend to see significant swelling and with chronic issues we tend to see high levels of muscle tension both of which make the chiropractic adjustment less likely to hold. When we make a adjustment we can make the spine perfectly aligned but if the swelling and muscle tension pull the spine out of alignment shortly after the adjustment then we need to adjust the patient very frequently to keep them in alignment and relief may take longer to achieve depending on the severity of the soft tissue trauma. With massage targeting the soft tissue trauma we can resolve that faster so the Chiropractic adjustment can resolve the source of the issue the spinal misalignment and get you lasting relief. This is why we have chosen to add a massage therapist to our healing team.
