Exercise is essential to a healthy body and a healthy life. Exercise helps every aspect of the body perform better when done properly including our psychological state. This is why when I had a parent tell me that weight training class in school is a waste of students time I felt the need to make my opinion known. Health is incredibly valuable to living a good life. It helps us to engage in more hobbies, have better social networks, increased productivity etc. This is why any class that offers knowledge on how to live a healthier life should be encouraged in schools. In my practice I often meet adults that are intimidated by the thought of going to the gym or engaging in other athletic activities so they avoid them. I also see adults come in who did not let a lack of knowledge prevent them from working out and then they injured themselves. Knowing how to exercise properly is a essential skill to maintaining good health and should be prioritized in schools.Â
