When making a new years resolution it is all to common to work in extremes. We often over estimate what we can do it 1 month and underestimate what we can do in one year. If you are successful in deciding to start working out every single day for an hour and eating all organic while reading more and being more financially responsible and whatever other resolution you make that is absolutely wonderful however for most it ends up being daunting and pushes us back to our old habits. My recommendation is to keep the goals attainable whatever that means for you. I would rather see a patient start walking twice a week for the rest of there life than do a month of intense daily workout that they hate. The best really is to find a hobby that fuels your body both physically and mentally. Instead of doing a strict diet that makes you feel like you are missing out I recommend experimentation with healthy foods. Trying to replace one unhealthy food with a healthy one every day can lead to you reaching for healthier options for the rest of your life. If you can make your resolution seem fun and not a choir you can turn it into a habit that can be maintained long term. This is essential to a healthy life. It does not matter what diet, detox or cleanse we do for one month if we eat garbage and do not exercise for the other 11 months of the year. This year focus on small sustainable changes that will reap huge payouts throughout your life.Â
